Security Engineer (Technical) - Permanent

Yoh has a direct hire opportunity for a Security Engineer (Technical) to join our client in Austin, TX.

Job Overview:
This position would be in a start-up atmosphere, challenging technical environment, opportunity to learn many new things.

Job Responsibilities:
- Navigating and working in a command line environment, and have demonstrated troubleshooting ability.
- Analytical problem solving and the ability to work independently and also with vendors and customers as needed.
- Handling technical functions with SQL(specifically MySQL), HTML, Web Application Servers, multiple operating systems, and Scripting languages
- Creating Documentation and reports
- Work closely with co-workers and clients on various programs.

Job Qualifications:
- BS in computer science or technical discipline
- Minimum of four (4) years directly related experience; education may be substituted for work experience.
- Experience with security related tools (vulnerability scanners/IDS/SIM, etc
- A basic understanding of networking and protocols is expected.
- Candidate must possess professional training or equivalent experience in one or more of the following types of disciplines: security operations/network operations; Structured Query Language (SQL) Specifically MySQL, Extensible Markup Language (XML), HyperText Markup Language (HTML), multiple operating systems (UNIX, Win32); and Web Application Servers (Apache/Tomcat); Other Scripting languages such as (Perl, SH, Tcl/Tk, PHP).
- Successful completion of specific tool training will be required immediately upon hire.
- Strong technical ability with effective task management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals
- Writing ability to create necessary documentation and reports
- Solid technical foundation and ability to understand and easily master new technical concepts.
- Some local travel required, occasional but infrequent regional travel.
