Description:
The Federal Health Operation team is looking for a Test Engineer, contingent upon contract award, in Austin, TX to support their bid on the Application Sustainment Testing Support Services (ASTSS) Program. The mission of the ASTSS Program is to plan, manage and conduct Functional, Regression and Integration testing in accordance with VA processes, PMAS and ProPath. The Test Engineer will perform testing to validate that that all requirements are met for the product release under test. The VA Office of Information & Technology (OI&T) Product Assessment Competency Division (PACD) is responsible for testing active products that include mainframe, multi-tier Graphical-User-Interface (GUI) and web applications.
The Federal Health Operation team will be supporting the PACD as the primary office responsible for sustaining applications after they are developed and placed into production. PACD will perform product development required to correct defects, adapt to changes occurring in the operating environment in which the application resides, change the architecture of the Product solution, and implement change requests that support business and congressional requirements. One or more Product modifications are bundled into a planned Product release version, also called a build, which requires testing. A Test Engineer who possesses knowledge of the Veterans Administration (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA) and Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) is needed to provide technical support to complement PACD's capabilities to perform Functional, Regression and Integration testing.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Acts as a Test Engineer for the ASTSS program, responsible for participating on small test teams, providing testing of all requirements. This includes test script and test plan development, producing a Test Traceability Matrix (TTM), completing the Test Evaluation Summary and Test Defect Log, providing technical assistance, and ensuring the proper adherence to all procedural requirements. Works on problems of diverse scope and contributes to the development of the organization's goals and objectives. Regularly interacts with outside customers and functional peer groups. Interaction normally requires gaining the cooperation of others.
Qualifications:
CLEARANCE: Position requires the ability to obtain a High Background Investigation from the Office of Policy and Management (OPM).
REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS: Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience shall include a range of assignments in technical tasks directly related to Functional, Regression and Integration testing.
DESIRED SKILLS: Past experience with VA VBA applications testing, PMAS and ProPath processes and IBM's Rational Suite.
