Program Manager - Lodging User Experience

The Area: Lodging User Experience

The User Experience Team develops impactful and innovative features that allow our hotel partners and internal teams to create and manage compelling hotel products. The Role: Program Manager

As a Program Manager on the Lodging User Experience team you will define and drive projects from conception to release. You'll work closely with business, design, usability and engineering teams throughout the company in a visible role that requires you to coordinate across teams, mitigate risks and balance business needs with technical constraints. You must have a strong drive, attention to detail, a collaborative work style, and a passion for solving hard problems as simply as possible.

Responsibilities:

- Drive new feature development through every stage of the product lifecycle.

- Gather detailed requirements from stakeholders, collaborate with software design engineers, designers, usability engineers and testers to identify feature details and document them in functional specifications.

- Effectively manage trade-offs between cost, schedule, and customer benefit.

- Engage development, test, and operations to deliver features to production and drive problem resolution once the new feature has gone live.

- Measure feature success metrics post ship and feed learning back to the team and the business.

- Define best practices, innovative on processes, and evangelize across the engineering team.

Qualifications:

- 7+ years of program management experience in a professional technology organization (preferably ecommerce).

- A passion for and experience with designing customer facing user interfaces.

- Ability to creatively solve challenging business/technology problems.
Experience gathering business requirements and turning them into detailed functional design specifications.

- Excellent oral/written communication skills.

- High degree of competency with project management including: project planning, issue and risk identification and management, tracking dependencies and milestones, and communication of overall project status.

- Proven ability to work cross functionally to drive the implementation of new features as well as resolve operational issues.

- A BA/BS degree in technical field or related discipline preferred.
