Senior Accountant

This position offers the opportunity to assist management in accurate revenue reporting and deal review which accomplishes customer objectives while yielding desired economics and accounting outcomes.

  • Work closely with Management in reviewing significant sales contracts and reduce contract related issues to ensure proper revenue recognition for Riverside, Partnership/Distribution Agreements and Mid-Atlantic, Central and International sales regions. Review and document complex, multi-element sales contracts to support compliance with applicable authoritative literature.
  • Perform monthly analysis, revenue and deferred revenue journal entries and prepare monthly reconciliations and reporting.
  • Review and understand various state adoption contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition
  • Analyze and understand various service/product offerings and revenue streams to ensure proper revenue recognition and financial system set-up.
  • Develop, implement and maintain processes and procedures for accurate and timely revenue recognition for multiple revenue streams, including development of effective systems of internal controls over revenue reporting
  • Assist in providing audit support for revenue transactions
  • Assist implementation of new Revenue Standard ASC606
  • Prepare Ad hoc reporting and support special projects as required

Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US-GAAP)
  • Working knowledge of ASC605-25, Revenue Recognition for Multiple Element Arrangements preferred
  • Knowledge of ASC 985-605 (formerly AICPA SOF 97-2) a plus
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction from management
  • Detail oriented with excellent analytic skills and interest in identifying and fixing problems.
  • Ability to draw conclusions and recommend and implement changes to improve processes and mitigate risk.
  • Advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables, V-lookup).
  • Experience with SAP and Salesforce.com a plus.
  • Experience with SOX 404/COSO framework a plus
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic fast-paced environment
  • Ability to effectively use accounting knowledge to collaborate with varying levels of employees and management to drive sound business decisions
