The Mobile Design Senior Software Product Manager for Mastering will work on extending the core Mastering application to mobile devices (tablets and smartphones). As a part of the Mobile group on the Mastering team, this person will be responsible for the specific mobile experiences that our customers (students and instructors) use, will collaboratively define simple, elegant, and effective mobile teaching and learning experiences, and will work create high-fidelity mockups with annotations for developers and Front End engineers to implement design using click-through prototypes or written behavior documentation.
This person will be responsible for partnering with product managers and software developers to scope, prioritize, implement, and deliver frequent new product releases and will serve as a spokesperson for the mobile product within the sales channel and with key customers.
Relocation is not available for this position. Ideal candidate will reside in the Boston, MA area.
Qualifications
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. Advanced degree a plus.
- 3-5 years of Product Management experience for an education provider, consumer Internet company or digital agency, acting as the lead customer advocate driving new functionality and enhancements.
- 3-5 years of experience gathering, interpreting, documenting and prioritizing requirements via process flows, use cases, functional wireframe/design annotations or other project artifacts
- 3-5 years of experience working to create sketches, workflows, wireframes and designs that span the web, mobile and tablet user experiences.
- 3-5 years of experience working within various SDLC methodologies including Waterfall and Scrum/Agile.
Skills/knowledge/abilities -
- Working knowledge of HTML, JS, CSS, and other current web technologies.
- Experience driving innovative self-service experiences via the web and/or other digital media for the end-consumer.
- 1-2 years of experience integrating social media into web and/or other digital applications.
- Intermediate to advanced skills using Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio
- Excellent teamwork, communication, organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to on occasion travel to company sites in North America (less than 10%).
- This person must be able to sit or stand at a personal computer for a reasonable length of time typing and reading.
- Ability to handle a high volume of work in a short period of time, handle multiple priorities simultaneously and operate in a demanding work environment is important.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality is critical to successful performance in this role.
