SAIC has an opportunity for a Senior Systems Research Engineer- Discovery and Systems Health located at Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, CA.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for leading an SAIC technical team in support of Discovery and Systems Health research and development projects. Coordinate project staffing and monitor tasks for successful completion. Participate in and lead key project tasks. Interface directly with the government technical area lead. Responsible for successfully directing technical planning, development and implementation according to cost, schedule, and scope requirements. Leads the technical team in successfully executing the project/customer requirements as well as responsible for delivering high-quality project outputs on time and within budget.

Qualifications:
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Master's degree and 15 years or PhD and 11 years related engineering experience in a technical discipline supporting Collaborative and Assistant Systems (eg: Systems Engineering, Advanced Communications). Should have experience working on projects or programs, with at least 5 years serving successfully in SE management or program management.

A system scientist/engineer/researcher with a distinguished research/development/engineering/implementation record in Discovery and Systems Health (eg: Systems Engineering, Risk Analysis, Data Mining, Systems Health and Safety). Prefer strong experience with aeronautics and/or space systems. An individual at this skill level shall have demonstrated leadership, analytical and problem solving skills in the appropriate area of expertise with numerous technical publications and formal technical presentations. Requires demonstrated skills leading technical projects and as well as experience in mentoring and leading others in small team environments. This includes experience developing and submitting project proposals. Requires strong written and oral communication skills. Must have ability to establish solid working relationships with customers, technical staff, managers and peers. Acitve DoD security clearance highly desired.
