Yoh has a long term contract opportunity for an Open Access Chromatography Engineering Technician to join our client, a world leader in the pharmaceutical industry, located in Cambridge, MA.

Job Responsibilities:

- Act as the primary Support Engineer for instrumentation within the Open Access labs of our Analytical Sciences and Chemistry departments.
- Keep instruments running at their optimum performance through proactive preventive maintenance.
- Monitor performance of equipment by implementing QC standard operating procedures.
- Work collaboratively with instrument users.
- Participate constructively in working teams and at lab meetings.
- Maintain spare parts inventory for commonly used replacements.
- Monitor trends in service requests and implement corrective actions to improve operational efficiency and reduce downtime of the instruments.
- Identify and report unsafe equipment, conditions and practices so that they may be corrected prior to an incident.

Job Qualifications:

- Ideally, the candidate would have two (2 - 5) years of experience in an industry setting as a Lab Technician (or BS) in a scientific discipline such as Biology, Chemistry, or Engineering.
- Ability to diagnose and Remedy advanced hardware and software problems quickly.
- A basic understanding of HPLC (Prep and/or Analytical) techniques, instrumentation and underlying principles.
- Basic laboratory skills including preparing solvents, standards, and solutions preps.
- Strong PC skills in Windows 7 or XP OS.
