Seeking a motivated and self-driven sales professional to fill a key role of an Application Platform Solution Specialist. This Solutions Sales Professional (SSP) will drive sales of large-scale, mission critical Line of Business solutions with SQL Server, BizTalk Server and complementing Development technologies.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the virtual sales team (Account Manager, Technical Specialist, and Partner Team) and will be required to work effectively with a large virtual team. The primary objective of the role is to exceed Platform revenue goals for the territory. The day to day responsibilities of the position include determining the appropriate solution to address the customer's pain, sourcing opportunities to the appropriate partners and closing on a solution that is deployed to meet client needs and drive business value. This includes selling at a strategic level in the account base; understanding the competitive landscape and creating and executing innovative programs to influence sales opportunities. This position requires the ability to effectively work through Partners to scale reach to customers evangelizing Microsoft's Big Data and Mission Critical Apps messaging.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate should have:
Extensive (10+ years) experience in selling Application Platform Solutions to large enterprises.
Demonstrated track record of success in selling complex solutions to large companies. In addition, solution selling experience with ERP and/or Business Intelligence solutions is also a plus.
Demonstrated the ability to develop and maintain CxO-level and senior business line executive relationships with Enterprise customers and map IT and development goals to business initiatives.
Experience in working with a virtual sales team, Solution Integrators (SIs) and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) to identify customer problems, opportunities and requirements and to prospect, qualify and drive opportunities to closure.
Solid understanding of Microsoft server products and complementing solutions.
Excellent communication and cross-group collaboration skills are mandatory.
A BA/BS or MS degree in Business, Computer Science or related discipline is highly desired. MBA is preferred. This position can be based anywhere in the Greater Southeast. Some travel is required.
