Job Summary
This position will work directly for the North American Director of Strategic Transportation. Under the Director's management the intern will support the Less than Truckload (LTL) and Truckload (TL) projects and provide assistance with the following activities:
Manage transportation lane and cost data collection process for Less-than-Truckload and Truck Load
Develop spend cube to analyze transportation lane and cost data
Interact with ThyssenKrupp business units to collect and organize transportation site specific requirements
Develop a RFP scoring systems based on ThyssenKrupp Business Units
Support the development and issuance of Less than Truckload and Truckload Request for Proposals (RFPs)
Analyze returned Transportation RFP and participate in data validation and saving analysis
Prepare fact based negotiation packages and team preparation
Additionally, there will be other support necessary related to project reporting, tracking, and executive presentation updates.
Requirements/Qualifications
Undergraduate in good standing or Graduate student (first year) currently enrolled in a Full time degree program.
oPreferred majors (supply chain, logistics, engineering, business)
Preferred experience and understanding of the transportation industry, specifically LTL and TL
Skilled in MS Access and Excel
Excellent written and verbal communication
Strong analytical skills
Excellent numerical skills
Strong customer service skills
Proactive and has a drive for results
Located within the Chicagoland area and ability to work at the ThyssenKrupp's downtown office Monday - Friday
