Description:This is a Full time temporary position from mid June to mid August, 2013.Basic Function:Plan and implement the summer camping programs.
Responsibilities: - Under direction, ensure that the activities of this position and relevant programs are consistent with the mission, vision, and values of the Secretariat for Catholic Charities Health and Human Services and Catholic Charities Services Corporation.
- Direct and coordinate program activities and functions at summer camp, a nine week day camp for children.
- Participate in the implementation of field trips.
- Assist in the training and provide overall supervision and evaluation of approximately 10-15 camp staff.
- Recommend employee personnel actions such as disciplinary or dismissal measures.
- Assist in development and participate in camp staff training.
- Assist in determining appropriateness of individual for camping program before and throughout camp season.
- Report all Major Unusual Incidents to appropriate authorities.
- Maintain attendance records for day camp.
- Refer campers/parents to supervisor for community resources and support services as appropriate.
- Recommend orders for supplies and equipment.
- Perform other duties necessary to accomplish objectives.
Description Requirements: - Combination of experience and education normally represented by a Bachelor's Degree in Recreation, Special Education or related field.
- One to two years previous experience with a variety of recreation programs.
- Must have competent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Must have leadership and organizational skills, strong detail oriented skills with the ability to supervise and work as part of a team.
- Current certification in First Aid and CPR or attained through training during orientation.
- Good working knowledge of computers with familiarity of Microsoft Office.
- Must have valid Ohio Driver's license and reliable means of transportation for local travel.
