What you need for this position:
- BS or higher in Computer Science or a similar IT-related field, or equivalent work experience.5+ years experience in a development role
- Experience with accounting or finance; either as a developer on financial or accounting applications or as an educational background.
- Experience with the Hyperion suite of applications (Hyperion Financial Management, FDM, Planning and Enterprise) is a plus.
- Knowledge of SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) concepts.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies is a plus.
- Experience with any of the following technologies and platforms:
- Programming Languages: Java, C#
- Database Platforms: Oracle, SQL Server
- XML Technologies: XML, WSDL, XSD, XSLT
- Operating Systems: Linux, AIX, Windows
- Version Control: Subversion
- Other: Object Oriented Design, Service Oriented Architecture, Patterns and Practices (GoF, Fowler, etc.)
What you'll be doing:
- Acts as a technical team lead, actively working to mentor other team members on best practices, techniques, and technologies.
- Takes a proactive approach with respect to managing and maintaining existing technology assets and development efforts.
- Is able to communicate and work efficiently with finance and accounting departments; must be able to understand core accounting and finance principles in order to better support accounting and finance IT initiatives.
- Works with the accounting and finance departments and IT management to develop a thorough understanding of business project goals, priorities, challenges, and objectives.
- Makes recommendations with respect to development methodologies and technology selection and usage.
- Actively stays current with new advances in the industry and contributes these findings from a strategic perspective.
- May be responsible for the oversight and resultant work product of external resources, such as contractors and consultants, on an as-need basis.
- Responsible for the architecture, review, and ownership of development and deployment processes.
- Ensures the reliability and success of deployment initiatives.
- Responsible for ensuring the integrity of team work products.
- Performs assigned project tasks in prioritized order to meet deadlines.
- Performs and leads troubleshooting efforts.
- Completes all assigned tasks on time, at the highest quality level, with the best value that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
- Supports and maintains company-developed technology assets, including source code, configuration files, deployment packages, and programs and applications deployed to production.
