Job Description We are seeking a Sr. Site Reliability Engineer who has worked in a complex computing environment to join our cloud operations team. You will work as part of a team that provides operational support for systems, services, and requirements in cloud infrastructure environments. The Sr. Site Reliability Engineer is also responsible for communicating to management the operational status of the environments including performance, capacity, availability, failure rates, and other performance metrics. A thorough understanding of System administration is a must, and specific experience with Linux operating systems and VMware enterprise products are required. To be successful, you will need a strong technical orientation; be a creative problem solver; be motivated to advance in the field; and work well in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:
- Perform performance analysis, proactive troubleshooting, continual improvement and capacity planning for production, virtualized environment
- Leverage automation framework to improve processes, automate deployment, and improve manageability of environment
- Design, develop and execute automated tests to validate solutions and environments
- Work with VMware Orchestrator to automate workflows and assist with evolution to fully automated cloud
- Review entire environment and execute initiatives to reduce failures, defects and improving overall performance
- Work with experienced System Administrators on maintenance of environment
- Perform deployment functions to ensure releases follow proper implementation lifecycle
- Refine and enhance processes that allow for proper testing and validation of release that go from development to staging to production environments
- Perform troubleshooting analysis and implement fixes to ensure availability SLAs are met

Basic Qualifications:
- Ability to use Scripting languages to automate tasks and gather data
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; including documentation
- Ability to handle multiple complex tasks, with tight deadlines concurrently
- Ability to perform well in a dynamic environment, with on-time delivery
- Demonstrate ability to use problem solving techniques such as root cause analysis to resolve issues
- Demonstrate ability to write and present effective materials, including presentations, status reporting, technical diagrams and flowcharts
- Ability to follow and adhere to policies, procedures and standards relating to Systems management. May recommend process improvements.
- Apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving problems that are complex in scope requiring in-depth evaluation - Demonstrate good judgment in solving problems as well as identifying problems in advance, and proposing solutions
- Require limited supervision and direction; drive results and set priorities independently
- Able to work a 24x7 on-call rotation schedule

Preferred Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience supporting production systems
- 3-6 years of experience with Linux operating systems
- 3+ years hands on experience with VMware Virtual Center/vSphere. Other VMware enterprise product experience a plus.
- Expert programming experience using one or more structured languages (python/Java)
- Experience coding to product APIs
- Knowledge of data storage protocols including CIFS, FC and NFS
- Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, DNS, LDAP, SMTP, Linux Account Management and VMware enterprise products
- Knowledge of Red Hat, Centos, Ubuntu, and Windows operating systems
- Hands on operational experience in a high-volume or critical production service environment
- At least 3 years experience with Linux systems administration
- Solid Scripting skills, Python/Java experience is a big plus
- IP networking, including familiarity with the functionality, operating, and failure modes of networks.
- Proven technical troubleshooting and performance tuning experience
- Ability to handle periodic on-call duty

Education:
