Description:
We are seeking a Senior Drupal Developer to support a large, high profile federal content management systems integration project.
This person will:
• install and configure Drupal and MySQL in a Unix environment
• develop/configure Drupal for high-performance
• possess experience with one or more caching solutions
• develop and manage automated content migration, possibly from a non-Drupal source
• write programs to interact with Drupal for reporting, querying, content manipulation, retrieving and loading syndicated content, and other purposes
• develop custom themes
• integrate commenting, rating, and other social networking features into a Drupal sites
• diagnose and correct problems in the production environment
• extend Drupal by developing custom modules or installation of third-party modules
Required Skills:
We are seeking a resource who has 5+ years of development experience, a Deep understanding of Drupal†s internal design, and a Deep understanding of architectural considerations using Drupal in an enterprise environment, including:
• Integration with Content Delivery Network (eg Akamai)
• Web server and database failover
• Security
• System backups and restorations
• Apache/Drupal/MySQL/PHP upgrades, especially minimizing or eliminating downtime
• Managing multiple large sites with Drupal
Understands development methodologies relevant to working in Drupal:
• Use of version control systems
• Tools
• Separation of development and testing environments from production
• Packaging and deployment of development work into the production environment
Education/Certifications:
Bachelors Degree or higher level of education
