Administers Summa Western Reserve Hospital's total wellness benefits package; communicates effectively with employees regarding plan offerings. Maintains, audits, reports and analyzes benefits and human resources data in HR system. Administers and maintains SWRH's Workers Compensation Program and Leave of Absences, including Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), according to established policies, guidelines, and governmental regulations. Reviews claims for compensation and medical expenses. Assists in hearing preparation. Ensures compliance with external regulations and internal policies/procedures. Assists with various HR projects.
1. Education and Training
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business, or closely related field of study.
- Additional years of experience may be substituted for the education requirement.
2. Experience
- One to two years of human resources experience to include exposure to employee benefits.
- Experience in Employee benefits to have included experience with Workers Compensation, FMLA administration, managing multiple types of leaves and benefits plans including 401(k) strongly preferred.
- Proven experience utilizing an HRMS system required.
- May consider meaningful internship experience in lieu of 1-2 years of work experience.
3. Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications
- Maintains competent level of proficiency of all current benefit programs, policies, and procedures.
- Keeps abreast of changes in current laws (eg ERISA, FMLA, ADA, COBRA, etc.).
- Must have and maintain technical and PC skills sufficient for a working knowledge of multiple software packages such as HRMS systems, Kronos, Work, Outlook, Access, Excel etc.

- The incumbent will have the ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.

5. Physical Requirements
- Ability to operate various types of computer equipment and software programs
- Ability to communicate using a telephone
*This position is 36 hours per week and will work 8 hours M-TH and 4 hours on Fri.*
