Voted Atlanta's most preferred hospital in overall healthcare services NOW seeks a highly qualified PATIENT ACCESS COORDINATOR with the following qualifications:


1) B.S. degree in Business Administration or related field or four (4) years Patient Access operations management experience.

2) Four (4) years operations management experience.

3) Three (3) years direct report supervisory experience.

4) Good written and oral communication skills.

5) Demonstrated knowledge of hospital operations, government regulations, and insurance provisions.

6) CHAM (Certified Healthcare Access Manager) or CHAA (Certified Healthcare Access Associate)

7) CPAR (Certified Patient Account Representative)

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1) Reviews scheduling activities and work operations for each shift. Recommends a sufficient number of qualified persons to provide services based on hospital needs, census, and conditions.

2) Is responsible for, through assigned area coordinator(s), the effective management of registration functions.

3) Evaluates daily activities and makes operational changes as necessary to improve service levels.

4) Oversees the planning of in-service training and continuing education for registration personnel based on changes within the organization, government, or insurance regulations.

5) Communicates and coordinates with registration locations on a daily basis to ensure operational effectiveness and delivery of quality service. Reports and updates the Patient Access Manager of any issues; provides recommendations for changes in department practices.

6) Hires, trains, orients, and evaluates performance of Coordinator(s) and other assigned personnel to assure consistent performance of department specific objectives and policies. Administers disciplinary action as needed in accordance with hospital policy.

7) Assists in the development and administration of daily up-front collection policies and procedures.

8) Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injury-accident to the Patient Access Manager.

9) Management responsibility for a staff of 60 FTE's.
