IT Systems Engineer - Network Infrastructure Analysis, WAN/LAN IT Systems Engineer Based in Dearborn, MI we are a growing logistics company and are seeking an experienced Sr Network Engineer or Network Architect with the ability to act as a subject matter expert with regard to all of our core infrastructure components with a focus on our network and security.

What you need for this position:
- Bachelor†s degree in computer science or related degree
- 5+ years of hands on experience as a Network Engineer
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
- Strong network troubleshooting skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Cisco Routers/Switches/Firewalls/VLANs/Cisco APs
- Experience with Cisco Pix and ASA
- Proven track record of maintaining high systems uptime
Preferred Skills/Certifications:
- Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
- Knowledge of Windows 2003, 2008 Servers including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, File Servers, Citrix, SAP, and MS SQL Servers is preferred.
- Scripting abilities
- Ability to multi-task in a busy environment
- Experience with Microsoft Exchange 2007 or higher
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
What you'll be doing:
The primary role of the Network Engineer (Architect) is to be the subject matter expert for all core infrastructure components focused on network and security. This would be complimented with supporting knowledge and experience with operating systems, hardware, and Servers OS and applications. This is a senior level technical position within the infrastructure organization and provides systems administration proficiency across all areas within the company†s infrastructure. The Sr Network Engineer will need vision to create and improve existing infrastructure and be hands on to implement proposed changes.
To this end, your responsibilities would include the following:
- Responsible for analyzing the network infrastructure across the organization†s multiple sites
- Managing WAN, LAN, and Wireless infrastructures
- Designing, planning, and implementing network improvements
- Monitoring existing network infrastructure and work to ensure maximum uptime
- Provide cross-training to other co-workers
- Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and customer service skills
- Plans and maintain disaster recovery plan and activities, including server data backup, restore, and other related functions
- Maintain and implement security functions
- Implementing and managing firewalls including ASA, NAT, and VPN configurations
- Troubleshooting complex problems across LANs, WANs, server, and desktop connectivity, operating systems, and applications anomalies
