Microsoft is making a huge R&D investment in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications business. Along with the functional expansion in depth and breadth of the Business Applications, Microsoft Dynamics is building the ERP Business for vertical industries in order to compete and win in the major and strategic markets around the globe. Microsoft is building a layer of vertical functionality for the public sector market. In order to succeed in this mission, the Global Financial Management team manages the Core AX Financial products as well as developing public sector industry solution.

The mandate of the Global Financial Management (GFM) Program Management (PM) team is to identify, prioritize, design and deliver the industry specific competitive and regulatory features needed to operate our business applications for Public Sector market in the supported countries as well as delivering selected local best practices and accounting rules according to the GAAP rules.

This Program Management role in the AX GFM is part of a centralized team, dedicated to designing and implementing Financial Global functionality into the standard solution, working closely with the other R&D teams.

Description of Role/Responsibility
Coordination between Core R&D Teams and Public Sector industry solution team Developing accounting application framework components to meet Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in applicable geographies for Dynamics AX Collect and review the various project scopes for supported industry and country roadmap. Ensure consistency, global visibility and find synergies across teams by reviewing scopes. Coordinate with other teams to drive framework features/asks into the Product.

Global and Local Features list identification, prioritization and scoping: You are responsible for scoping, prioritizing and driving delivery (in collaboration with the development team) of financial framework to meet market requirements for the Microsoft Dynamics products around the globe. You will need to ensure that you are planning and executing work within allocated budgets. As such, the ability to gather and present business cases to the GFM team (Development/Test) is required.

Requirements gathering: You must ensure that you are gathering market needs in a timely manner for a successful implementation by the Development organization.

Feature Specifications: You will need to prepare Functional Specification documents following the MS Engineering Excellence standards and processes to articulate high quality business needs and specifications. You will manage, co-ordinate and prioritize the functional requirements to make sure that they are delivered and consumed by the team (ie DEV/TEST). The functional specifications document will follow the Microsoft Engineering Excellence criteria.

Vendor Management: Occasionally, you will have to manage the on-time and on-budget delivery of work by vendors around the globe, often in collaboration with the GFM Development team. Vendors may include Microsoft Dynamics product-line partners, accounting firms, audit companies, and the like that can provide the market requirements in such areas as legal requirements and accounting practices for ERP customers and systems.

This is where you come in; if you are a highly motivated individual who is eager to make an immediate impact in helping us scale out the development of Public Sector industry solution.

We are looking for an exceptional program manager to contribute to the design and delivery of financial applications compliant with the local rules. The ideal candidate has experience in developing and shipping packaged software products for public sector market and would have gone through multiple product shipping cycles. Domain expertise in core Financials is required while in depth knowledge of government budgeting. Accounting and reporting are preferred.

Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work across time zones in a multi-culture environment are required in order to collaborate with teams across multiple domestic and international locations.

Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a developing accounting business applications using innovative methods such as REA (Resources, Events, Agents) or equivalent models
- Moderate to deep domain knowledge on Accounting, Budgeting, Planning and Forecasting
- Practical or academic experience in developing accounting information systems
- Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple stakeholders (Program Management, Development, Test, peers groups)
- Solid collaboration, and execution skills and ability to manage few independent projects simultaneously.
- Experience in Corporate Performance Management and Financial Reporting tools is a plus
- Bachelor's degree required in Engineering with experience in ERP Applications or Accounting
- 5-10% travel required
