Systems Engineer- Mission Planning Intelligence (Job Number:318828)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position supports various systems engineering activities consistent with the Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) Systems Engineering and Integration Contract (SEIC). The JMPS will be used by the Air Force and Navy to plan aviation missions, replacing the various mission planning systems used today. As part of the SEIC Platform Engineering Integrated Product Team (IPT), and working closely with the Government customer, the systems engineer will be expected to:

- Support the development and maintenance of Mission Planning milestone artifacts such as the Capability Description Document (CDD), the Information Support Plan (ISP), Interface Control Document (ICD), and DOD Architecture Framework (DODAF) views.

- Coordinate and facilitate Mission Planning Interface Control Working Group (ICWG) meetings and other Technical Interchange Meetings and Working Groups with users, developers and other stakeholders. Generate minutes and track resulting action items.

- Represent the Government customer as a DoD intelligence data expert; participate on various Mission Planning Component IPTs, test teams and working groups.

- Support development of new (eg, Network Enabled Weapons) and modernization of existing Mission Planning Weapon Components; evaluate intelligence data requirements, designs and schemas. Document and report findings and recommendations to the Government.

- Monitor other data dependencies applicable to Mission Planning Weapon Components (eg, Jammer Effectiveness Table, Jammer Parameters Library, etc.). Represent the Government customer in related technical discussions and Deficiency Review Boards.

- Support the Govt. risk management process through identification, analysis, mitigation and tracking of Mission Planning development risks associated with DoD intelligence data and programs

- Interface directly with both Government and developer representatives. Establish and maintain close working relationships with both.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent Experience?in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline and 8+ years of relevant experience.

Required Skills: Experience with DoD Intelligence Mission Applications (eg, the Modernized Integrated Database (MIDB) and the Combat Support Database (CSDB) and related Electronic Order of Battle (EOB) data is required. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required to collaborate with customer representatives, domain experts, and other systems engineers in the development of complex software systems. Must currently have a US Top Secret clearance or higher.
