The Account Manager (AM) is a field-based representative who executes Janssen Therapeutics sales strategies selling Janssen Therapeutic products within an assigned geographical territory. The AM is responsible for a variety of areas, including:
Strategic Selling
- The AM reports to the District Manager and he or she must be able to demonstrate a mastery of Janssen Therapeutics products' clinical efficacy and a deep understanding of his or her market; articulate a value proposition for the customer; provide product support/information as needed; and achieve his or her sales quota.
- The AM is responsible for to using discretion and judgment to execute the franchise and company brand strategy and tactics within their assigned geographic area within compliance guidelines.
- The AM influences decision makers by delivering a targeted sales message based on accurate clinical information, uses approved sales and marketing materials, and executes marketing strategies at the local level, leveraging resources appropriately and working successfully with Janssen team members and counterparts to share ideas and information to enhance business results.
- The AM must build positive and productive customer relationships with key accounts and top ARV providers for the purpose of demand creation for all assigned Janssen Therapeutics products.
- The AM must generate sales and perform approved promotional activities for new products and indications within approved product label. The AM must be able to develop a complete understanding of the health care delivery system within each assigned account, including the physician hierarchy, key pharmacy personnel, clinical nursing staff, among others.
- The AM must use technology to share approved sales and marketing aids and documents account profiles and activities in the View Point system.
- The AM is responsible for running District Council Meetings to meet business needs and facilitate product pull through, as well as encourage cross-functional communication with the local District Manager, Sales Representatives, Community Liaisons, and In-house support.
- The AM must attend and participate in all required sales meetings, completes all required training curriculum in a timely manner, and achieves training standards
- The AM organizes and completes administrative responsibilities efficiently, including healthcare compliance, expense reporting, call reporting, and other assignments. The AM must ensure all requests and assignments meet company requirements and are submitted by established deadlines.
- The AM will also provide Business Intelligence to the District Manager (eg assessing risks and opportunities, improving District strategy, and spotting emerging key accounts), and compile and maintain a customer database that documents appropriate customer information and contacts that can be shared across various levels and functions within Janssen Therapeutics.
- The AM must partner to ensure required minimum utilization of all speakers.
- The AM will also be responsible for speaker management using approved company channels and the company speaker bureau.
Access and Reimbursement Leadership
- The AM must understand the reimbursement process, and lead the coordination of field based personnel within his or her District on this process, eg offering District leadership for ADAP, Medicaid, Managed Care Organizations, select Correctional Facilities, targeted 340B accounts, and VAs within an assigned geographic area.
- The AM must be a subject matter expert on access and reimbursement at assigned regional, state, and local levels, and partner with internal and external Access and Payer experts to stay up-to-date on the latest access and reimbursement issues and trends at a the national level
- The AM should have a deep understanding of data trends and short-and long-term sales potential relevant to percentage of patients treated, patient mix, and product utilization, etc. The AM must also understand the impact of specialty pharmacies, 340B outlets, Ryan White (inclusive of ADAP), Managed Care Organizations, AIDS Education and Training Centers (AETC), and new protocols or new treatment modalities that impact business potential in his or her district.
- The AM would ideally have experience in a launch setting and understand the goals and process to successfully launch new HIV products and execute business plans.

- Access and Reimbursement Leadership, New Business Development - 30%
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree, with a minimum of five (5) Healthcare Sales or relevant specialty product experience is required. Successful candidates should also have demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, as well as a track record of producing and driving results in a functional group (ie commercials operations). A strong candidate will be able to identify key decision makers, develop strong relationships, and build customer loyalty. Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative team is required. Demonstrated ability to work on multiple tasks is required. Candidate must also have a valid driver's license in one of the 50 states, a clean driving record, and must be willing to travel as needed or required.
Prior experience managing a large territory is preferred. Extensive knowledge of healthcare delivery systems (managed care, public entitlements, hospitals) is also preferred
Candidates must satisfy reasonable credentialing requirements, including, but not limited to TB tests, Hepatitis B vaccine, MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) and Varicella (chicken pox).
The Account Manager position is field-based located within the Fort Worth Territory. Regular territory travel is required, overnight travel of approximately 50%, including sales and medical meetings, training, and field visits is required.
