Visa's Global Payment System Risk Group (GPSR) is seeking a strong and energetic leader to manage Visa's Strategic Analytics team. GPSR is dedicated to promoting the safe and sound long-term prosperity of the Visa payment system.
Overview:
The Senior Business Leader-Strategic Analytics (SBL) will be a key member of Visa's GPSR Strategy team which is responsible for strategy development and coordination, strategic planning and performance tracking, as well as risk and security market intelligence. The SBL will be responsible for leading the data, reporting, and analytics efforts for GPSR to support critical decision making and influence Visa's GPSR strategy.
The SBL will be responsible for managing Visa's risk data strategy to support a board range of metrics, reports and analyses. The SBL will also be expected to work and support key areas within GPSR, across different functions and geographies, leading strategic reviews of issues with significant potential impact to safety and soundness of the payment system and assessing the effectiveness of our strategy.
This is a management position and will include managing an analyst, as well as coordinating data-related efforts with in-market analytical teams. This position reports to the head of GPSR Strategy and will be based in Visa's Foster City offices.
Primary Responsibilities:
-Visa's authority for fraud data, manage fraud data standards/definitions and owner of fraud reporting policies and principles.
-Lead the risk data, reporting, and analytics strategy and approach for GPSR, including production of KRIs and KPIs and developing a data dictionary.
-Define and implement a robust and comprehensive GPSR data strategy to support a broad range of metrics, reports, analyses, forecast and projections.
-Act as a thought leader, providing management and country risk teams with recommendations for optimizing risk performance derived from data insights.
-Work closely with in-market analytics team and different functions within Visa in ensuring global consistency in the data management, metrics and reporting.
-Support the reporting needs of several internal cross-functional teams by providing standard reports and dashboards, enabling ad-hoc reporting capabilities, and conducting in-depth analyses.
-Support the development and distribution of reports for key external partners including financial institutions, merchants, government and strategic partners.
-Lead the development of business requirements crossing multiple application development teams, and the reporting and data architecture technology team.
As secondary responsibility, the SBL will participate in risk strategy engagements and projects supporting the GPSR Strategy team. These engagements will consist of program reviews to ensure the global policy and executions team efforts remain in alignment with the GPSR strategy with the primary goal of migration the Visa payment system to a dynamic authentication data.
Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or Statistics;
-MBA or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred.
-At least 12 years of progressive experience leading Business Intelligence teams, conducting data analysis in large complex data sets, strategy and research.
-Extensive database, data visualization, data analysis, reporting, data mining, data warehousing, and risk analytics experience.
-Leadership and management skills - committed to motivating team members contributing from various collaborative team-based projects.
-Having a passion for identifying the key findings that can be learned from the data.
-Demonstrated ability to deliver on large-scale analyses with significant business impact and effective at building insights from research, data collection and analysis.
-Strong presentation and data visualization skills and proven ability to create executive level reports, dashboards and presentations.
-Excellent written, oral and presentation skills and an ability to synthesize information and make clear, concise recommendations on course of action.
-Must be a high energy, motivated team player with ability to effectively lead cross-functionally teams in a Matrix organization and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
-Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic and flexible. Able to work independently.
-Financial services, payments and risk management industry experience a strong plus
-Good Knowledge of the Visa data is a plus
