Requisition ID: 23773BR Job Title: Human Resources Manager/Associate Division: Implants Ops Business Unit: North America Business Function: Human Resources/Recruiting Business Sub Function: General/Other: Human Resources Country: United States State: CA City: Fremont Shift: 1st Job Description: Stryker Nuerovascular Operations team is recruiting a talented HR professional to lead the HR function within the Fremont and Mountain View Operations sites. This is an exciting opportunity to assimilate new businesses/aquisition sites into Stryker's culture.
The Human Resources Manager will provide full level Human Resources support to the Fremont- CA and Mountain View, CA plants reporting to the (Sr.) Manager, Human Resources. The Manager/Senior Manager is based in West Valley, UT so the Representative needs to be self motivated and act independently. The Representative is responsible for delivering a workforce that has the necessary knowledge, skills and talent to achieve its goals.
1. Learn the business: It's essential that the Representative become familiar with all phases of the business during the first (90) days. This includes an understanding of the business vision and strategy, products and processes, customers, industry, financial performance, culture and values.
2. Integrate the businesses into the Stryker North America Implants campus: Because these plants are recently acquired businesses and just becoming part of Stryker Corporation the Representative will be challenged with leading the change management of integrating the business and employees into Stryker. This heavy emphasis includes all people systems, processes, and culture.
3. Build a highly talented team through strong talent acquisition: This will be an area of focus as the plants have vacancies that need filling with highly talented people. Developing key business partnerships with the Staffing and Organizational Development leadership teams will be imperative. Use your communication skills in order to articulate the human capital needs of your business to the Staffing team so we can quickly build strong, talent pipelines. Work with the Organizational Development in ascertaining what highly-skilled and talented high-potential employees are currently being groomed for the next leadership roles. Determine with those partners the strategic decisions to be made regarding internal talent, but also deciding on external sourcing strategies needed in order to find qualified candidates.
4. Develop the capabilities of the team: Build a highly trained workforce in partnership with the Organization Development and Technical Training teams. Use established and create new tools that will develop the workforce such as a robust expectation setting and coaching processes, performance review process, e-training, 360 degree feedback instruments, and Individual Development Planning, etc. Use the Talent Review process as an opportunity to work closely with leaders to understand existing teams, determine future career pathing, succession planning and growth strategies for employees.
5. Build a highly engaged team: Using your background in employee engagement and tools such as the Q12 survey, partner with the leadership in implementing ideas or solutions that will further drive engagement upward. Also spend time discussing and focusing on areas of excellence for each team on the Q12 or other satisfaction markers, and find ways to leverage those best practices across other groups.
6. Build a high performance culture: Building a culture begins with understanding the current state. Spend time with the leadership and production teams in order to understand the current culture. Once you have a solid understanding, use effective performance management tools and initiatives to increase employee effectiveness. Use the philosophy of performance differentiation to recognize and reward the best, and use coaching and counseling to continually improve performance levels. Foster a climate of accountability, responsibility, ownership and results orientation.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in HR, Business, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years HR Management Experience Qualifications/Work Experience: Percent Travel Required: 25%
