Network and PC Support Technician

We are looking for someone to join our team!  The role of this position is to ensure the stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, video, and wireless network services. This is achieved by planning, designing, and developing local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organization. This individual will participate with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links. This individual will also analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training where required. In addition to performing networking related duties the candidate will also serve as support to our employees by handling any software or hardware related issues.

Qualifications:

• Must have a minimum of one - two years of experience working in a similar or related environment
• Experience with telephony and network cabling, wireless 802.11, and general computer skills
• Understanding of common protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SFTP, etc)
• Understanding of EIA/TIA standards and Ethernet technology, including cabling (CAT 3/5/6, etc.)
• Must have good communication, documentation and multitasking skills
• Understanding of Windows Server 2008 and Active Directory
• Basic PC troubleshooting experience
• Must be able to handle some on call
• Understanding of Firewall policies
• Must be able to lift 35+ pounds

Duties will consist of:

• Troubleshoot network performance, printers, and communication issues
• Develop and monitor appropriate security procedures to safeguard system from physical harm and viruses, unauthorized users, and damage data
• Perform installs, upgrades, patches and new applications and equipment
• Monitor all server system logs
• Monitor all Firewall, IDS, spam and virus logs
• Monitor backups
• Tech support for users - hardware and software
• Monitor bandwidth usage on network
• Run vulnerability assessments on the network
• Assist in Disaster Recovery testing and procedures

$30,000 - $45,000 salary
