Overview: Responsible for leading and participating in data protection projects such has tape encryption and remote site replication, GxP/FDA documentation, re-running and documenting failed backup jobs, provide support for storage and server backups, data recovery, disaster recovery, and operational reporting for GE Healthcare businesses.
Must be able to analyze and problem solve complex technical issues with minimal supervision. Must work well within a team environment and communicate well to a diverse set of colleagues. Must be able to automate and document routine tasks for support teams.
Responsibilities:
Participate in operational Break-fix activities for global Backup and Recovery environments ensuring resolution in a timely manner. Coordinate internal support teams and third parties in the support and resolution of issues. Participate in an on call rotation and provide support for backups, recovery and disaster recovery for GE Healthcare core business and GE hosted hospital disaster recovery sites. Design and deploy backups for GE Internal and external customers. Ensure conformance to established system architecture, regulations, standards and practices and participate in their creation. Participate in Disaster recovery exercises and evaluate and document exercise results. Develop and maintain operational processes. Participate in small projects. Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years administration experience with Solaris Unix and Windows Operating Systems. Minimum of 2 years of experience with server or storage technologies. Preferred NetBackup System Administration Certified. Preferred BS/BAA in Computer Science or related field. Preferred 2 years administration experience with Veritas/Symantec NetBackup. Technologies:

Gxp, FDA, Sarbanes-Oxley, NHS and other regulatory compliance experience. Experience working in ASP or PACS data Centers. Soft Skills:
Requires proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills. Requires exceptional interpersonal/teamwork and leadership skills. Requires ability to work in a dynamic environment and multi-task. Excellent analytical/problem solving skills. Self-motivated and able to work without supervision. Self-learning with the desire to expand knowledge and develop to L3/4 engineer standard.
