SAIC has career opening for a Systems/Network Engineer in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The job of the Systems/Network Engineer serves on a team that will design, engineer, and repair client and server systems for MCIA Programs. The candidate will participate in system design and develop enhancements and improvements to the server environment. MCIA systems are a diverse mix of software and hardware solutions designed to meet challenging mission goals, scalability requirements and allow for a flexible system evolution. The candidate will provide on-site repair support to hardware, software, and networking issues. The candidate will also prepare and deploy client and Servers systems within the area of operations in order to field new equipment to units.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate must be able to do the following:
-The qualified candidate must have design, engineer and document solution experience.
-The ideal candidate will have extensive software, hardware, and network troubleshooting experience.
-The candidate should be able to install, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux-based operating systems and software on client and server machines.
-Must possess knowledge of on-site and remote system administration, networking principles, and system support procedures.
-Exceptional oral and written communications skills and ability to work independently, with minimum direction required.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 5+ years related experience.
-Requires appropriate DoD 8570 Level III designated position which requires, at a minimum, one of the following certifications: CISA, GSE, SCNA, CISSP or GCIH. MCITP-SA is also highly desired.
certifications or approved time waiver requests prior to arrival at MCIA.
-Requires TS/SCI Clearance.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-Experience with bare metal system building and preparation.
-Working knowledge of client and server software interaction, web-based application design and support, intelligence software applications.
-Experience with WAN or LAN administration, Linux, Windows Server 2003, IIS, and LDAP administration. Experience with tactical systems and a network environment is preferred. Experience in the DOD intelligence environment or equivalent government agencies, with field level experience preferred.
