This position will be responsible for leading all EHS activities for the Drilling & Surface business within GE Oil & Gas, including the communication and translation of EHS concepts, strategy development, and change implementation. Essential Responsibilities: In addition, you will:


  • Lead the development of a world class EHS program for Drilling & Surface business on a global scale to ensure integration of EHS policies and practices into the business
  • Develop, communicate and implement short and long term strategy to ensure Drilling & Surface business compliance, new business integration, anticipate business cycle growth impacts, manage resources to position business for continued excellence, achieve customer expectations and assure the business credibility and differentiation with employees, customers and other stakeholders
  • Provide support and technical guidance to Drilling & Surface personnel to ensure programs are effectively implemented and maintained
  • Customer champion, external and internal customer focus, strong commitment to the operationalization of EHS activity
  • Assure EHS resources are effectively optimized, trained and motivated
  • Provide input to and manage department budgets
  • Lead business in complying with all applicable EHS rules, regulations and GE policies
  • Analyze data to assess environment, health and safety challenges, and to develop approaches to control
  • Drive EHS performance metrics/improvement globally across Drilling & Surface business
  • Ensure effective working relationships with GE Oil & Gas EHS HQ staff and EHS P&L Leaders to leverage best practices, and outreach to government agencies Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in occupational safety and health, engineering, or related technical discipline
  • Minimum of 10 years of EHS experience in a professional EHS role Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening.   • Six Sigma Greenbelt trained/certified (GE Employees only)
  • Prior EHS P&L leadership experience
  • Knowledge of GE's EHS management systems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills
  • Superior leadership and strategic skills, ability to work in a Matrix environment, influence and motivate diverse teams to achieve a unified goal
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
