Hadoop Engineer - Data Mining, Machine Learning algorithms Data Mining Engineer Based in Houston (with a location in S. FL as well), we are a promising early stage start up seeking a strong Hadoop Engineer with Lucene and cohort analysis of data experience.

What you need for this position:
~Minimum Qualifications...
>Practical knowledge and understanding of the state of the art data-mining and machine-learning techniques
>Solid experience with advanced Javascript (experience limited to jQuery is not enough), HTML, CSS
>Good knowledge of the LAMP stack
>Experience working in startups and small team environments
~Ideal candidates will also possess...
>Medical or Healthcare related research/industry experience
>Experience with OSS learning packages like Mahout, scipy, weka, etc.
>Knowledge of Perl, Python or other Scripting languages
>Experience with searching and indexing

What you'll be doing:
>Work on cohort analysis of data
>Develop and optimize Real Time content analysis tools
>Work on extraction of valuable information from the data warehouse
>Analyze usage patterns to enable product and engineering
>Apply state of the art machine learning algorithms
>Use Front End and Back End technologies such as advanced Javascript, NGinx, high-performance databases to rapidly prototype and deploy your solutions
