The Training Center Receptionist for our GE Oil & Gas Training Facility will courteously and professionally welcomes visitors and directs them appropriately; maintains security and telecommunications system. Essential Responsibilities: In addition, you will:


  • Welcome visitors by greeting them in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries to the appropriate individual/location using proper etiquette
  • Assist guests with visitor log, badging, parking and other logistics
  • Be extremely punctual and reliable
  • Maintain knowledge of student classes and meetings on a daily basis in training center
  • Maintain department directory
  • Maintain security by following procedures; monitoring logbook; issuing visitor badges
  • Maintain safe and clean reception area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Have a thorough knowledge of emergency and security procedures
  • Assist with training and conference room scheduling
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of conference room locations and rates
  • Inform facilities of all maintenance needs
  • Arrange special services such as catering, transportation, and other requirements when needed
  • Contribute to team effort by performing other reasonable job duties as requested
  • Keep the reception area neat and tidy Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Associates Degree (or High School Diploma/GED with a Minimum 2 additional years of related administrative experience)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience providing administrative support Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen. Desired Characteristics:
  • Proven ability in the areas of Planning, organizing and time management
  • Experience supporting a training facility in a customer facing role
  • Outstanding personal and interpersonal skills
  • Bilingual - Spanish
  • Excellent Telephone, Verbal Communication, Listening skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Extremely professional and customer focused
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities/requests and work well under pressure
  • Knowledge of supplier management and coordination
  • Excellent team player
