Job Description

BASIC FUNCTION:

The Senior Analyst - IT Applications will be a business analyst for Business Intelligence reports from various departments. He/she will help identify, analyze and document business requirements for various reports by interacting with the user departments. He/she will also test and validate the reports developed before coordinating user acceptance testing with user departments.

MINIMUMREQUIREMENTS:

u Strong computing skills - MS Office, PeopleSoft Query, basic understanding of database structures, SQL preferred

u Bachelor's degree or equivalent

u Strong analytical capabilities and written and verbal communication skills

DUTIES:

Business Analysis for Business Intelligence

Understand and document user requirements, design and test reports. Verify

accuracy, adequacy and user friendliness of the reports.

1. Develop reports in various functional areas like Finance, Supply Chain, Asset Management, Operations, Human Resources, etc.

2. Identify data sources and build report mock ups.

3. Translate business requirements to system/functional requirements and explain them to the application developers.

4. Work as a liaison among various departmental stakeholders in order to understand the structure, policies and operations of the company, and to recommend cross-

functional and cross-system solutions to achieve the company's goals.

5. Serve as a conduit between the users and the software development team through which requirements flow.

6. Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.

7. Serve as project manager to manage expectations and communicate progress on the development.

8. Train users on the application.

9. Modify and refine reports based on user feedback.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Educational and/or practical knowledge of information systems

and processes a significant plus. Certifications/Training in Information Systems strongly preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

2+ years of information system experience a significant plus. Experience as a super user in a business area will be preferred. Experience in OBIEE or other Business Intelligence software is preferred.

SKILLS:

Excellent computer skills are mandatory (Excel, Word, pivot tables, PeopleSoft Query, MS Access, SQL). Strong analytical skills and problem solving abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts across departments/locations. Training skills and ability to grasp cross-functional needs/reports. Good organizational skills and ability to handle concurrent projects and priorities. Team oriented approach and self starter initiative. Ability to assess and efficiently design and document roles based on user inputs/requirements. Proficiency in PS Query and SQL and a demonstrated ability to work in a deliverable based project environment

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to work translating user requirements into design document(s). Must have good understanding of relational databases and demonstrate an ability to work on more than one project at a time. Must have good communication skills to assist users with security issues over the phone, email or in person.INGENUITY:

Ability to identify, analyze and take appropriate corrective action when problems are encountered.

DECISION MAKING:

Ability to organize activities in order to function efficiently in a busy environment. Must be able to quickly recognize problem areas and initiate action to solve the problems in coordination with other IT and user team members. Must be able to propose solid design solutions, produce and maintain change management documentation and coordinate activities to meet project deadlines.
