Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with proven skills in new product design and the maintenance of existing products. He/she will direct and/or create the project design requirements: new design concepts, layouts, calculations, drawings and BOM's.
Candidate must be detailed oriented, self motivated with a strong sense of personal ownership and a team attitude. Candidate must have the ability to work independently while prioritizing and supporting multiple tasks in a high paced but exciting environment.
Responsibilities:
-Lead the design of Valves and Controls serving the oil and gas industry from concept to product introduction...
-Custom mechanical design (modeling) & drawings using Solid Edge
-Ensure that products comply with regulatory requirements (ex. NACE, API, UL)
-Provide direction to manufacturing and supply chain as needed.
-Design of products to meet safety requirements of local, federal and industry requirements at a minimum.
-Conceive, Plan, Develop and coordinate projects as assigned as an individual contributor or as a member of a cross functional team.
-Provide guidance and support to project team leader.
-Create and develop engineering project documentation, ie bill of materials and drawings, and specifications.
-Direct and develop prototypes, test plans and validate through analysis and testing as required.
-Direct and troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve product issues utilizing state of the art tools and methodologies.
-Mentor less experienced engineers and other departments.
-Research and document new technologies to be considered for current or future product line enhancements.
-Participate in or conduct design reviews, provide feedback, using appropriate tools, ie FMEA, analyses, field and lab testing.
-Provide support to sales, operations and marketing as required.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
-Proficient in 3D/CAD Solid Modeling
-Logical thinking, deductive reasoning and attentive to details.
-Cause and effect analysis skills
-Product evaluation, testing and reporting skills
-Solid understanding of engineering mechanics, fluid flow and pneumatics.
-BSME & 7 yrs. experience or MSME & 5 yrs. experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Process controls design - valves (control, butterfly, piston check), actuators, regulators, level controls,
-FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis)
-FEA (Finite Element Analysis)
-CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics)
-3D/CAD Solid Modeling - Solid Edge
-Statistical Techniques (Minitab, Design of Experiments, Product Capability Analysis, Tolerancing and Dimensional Stackups)
-Basic Electrical Circuits and Wiring
-Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
