Senior Project Engineer - Oil and Gas industry experience

Yoh has an 18 month (1.5 years) Contract opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer (with more than 10 years in Oil and Gas industry experience) to join our client in downtown Houston, Texas.

Job Responsibilities:
- The primary job responsibility is to provide a diverse and wide variety of Project Engineering functions for the Process and Treating organization focused on coordinated responses to the project engineering team.
- Utilize sound judgment in the development of process and treating products for a variety of applications.
- Interacts within the Project Applications and sales personnel to the point of order receipt while maintaining coordination with management and process engineering review.
- Administer and insure scope of estimate costing meet the customer's needs.
- Maintains organized documentation of all customer, technical and estimating Information, conversations, decisions and approvals pertinent to project development.
- Coordinate and review all technical and process requirements with the Proposal Coordinator and the project team to insure all components to the RFQs are covered and agreed upon prior to start of the project activity.
- Coordinate, disseminate and expedite required information between engineering and Sales.
- Monitor the progress of in-house proposals.
- Ensure the completion of projects within the specified time frames, and coordinate due date extensions with the appropriate Project Manager.
- Take part in proposal reviews between sales, engineering and departmental management and attain cost estimate approvals.
- Performs a variety of functions necessary for the successful operation of the department, as assigned by the management of the company.
- Actively supports, participates in and maintains the integrity and ongoing function of the company and facility's safety program, ensuring a safe/healthy work environment.

- Must handle highly confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner, performing independently and on own initiative.

- Under general supervision, expected to perform a variety of assigned projects/tasks with little supervision permitting exercise of judgment and latitude in selecting methods or techniques to accomplish the assignment; Results are subject to occasional review.
- Provides support to a diverse group of personnel and representatives with instructions, requests, and directions from several individuals.

Job Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
- At least ten (10) years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
- The job requires strong desktop publishing skills with strong proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Understand the basics of oil and gas process equipment project engineering activity.
- Excellent PC proficiency, able to perform Word processing and develop spreadsheets.
- Able to work fluctuating work schedules and extensive mandatory work hours required by workloads when necessary, including weekends.
- Position requires wide latitude in planning and performance of assignments in accordance with established policy or general company practices. Results are subject to verification.
- Must possess a high degree of initiative with the ability to be promptly and regularly at work.
- Ability to comply with the facility's production, quality and safety standards.
