SURF Construction Manager
The SURF Construction Manager will provide technical support to SURF team during early design phase, support to the project in defining scope and selection of Subsea Installation Contractor (SIC) during FEED and scope management support for fabrication, installation and commissioning of SURF facilities. Work proactively within project teams to meet the project targets from early definition of the project to handover to operation.
I have coordinated the engineering with the construction for constructability, planning, man-hour estimates, vendor and sub contractor evaluations prior to contract awards. Familiar with current industrial requirements for safety and compliance, quality assurance and quality control programs including bid preparation, planning for pre-commissioning, commissioning, to project close-out. Experienced and mastered the skills to manage large scale projects including time and budget management per schedules and scope, coordinated inter-discipline-client and sub contractor scheduling and priorities, with operations background can organize schedules to optimize project goals, multi cultural awareness and sensitive, plan and mitigate by risk analysis, staff project and manage by delegation for success
The Lead Umbilical Engineer will provide technical input on Umbilical systems to the design and delivery of Subsea systems from early definition of the project to handover to operations..
Technical Requirements:
- Shall have experience from a Subsea Installation Contractor managing delivery of deepwater SURF facility.
- Clear understanding of Fabrication, Installation & Commissioning process and Quality Control and Quality Assurance requirements
- Shall be able to guide conceptual design of SURF scope focussing on Constructability and Safety in Design aspects.
- Shall be able to facilitate Constructability reviews, HAZID and Safe Operation Review in various stages of the project
- Shall be able to document Project Decisions through Decsion Support Package (DSP) highlighting the options selection and risk and mitigation process.
- Familiarity with worldwide Fabricators, Installers, knowledge of fabrication facilities capabilities, installation vessel capabilities,features, and pros and cons will be preferable
- Stay abreast of new technology in the area of Installation and Commissioning and identify opportunities for advancement and deployment of key technology in projects.
- Shall develop Project Scope of work for Subsea Installation Contractor, develop budgetary cost & schedule for installation activities, project specifications and Request for Quotation package.
- Shall participate in Subsea Installation Contractor pre-qualification, technical and commercial bid review, recommendations to award and bid negotiations.
- Review and approve the installation design performed by a Subsea Installation Contractor (including specifications, reports, calculation notes, analyses, drawings, datasheets, technical notes), ensuring that it meets project objectives, industry standards and best practice for safety, reliability and cost
- Interface with Client and SURF project team on a regular basis
- Monitor the Third Party Contractor performance.
- Site Supervisor as Company Representative during Fabrication, Installation and Commissioning and perform daily Site inspection and witnessing of testing activities in accordance to approved ITP.
- Oversee the QA/QC, Scheduling, and materials, with the relevant discipline
- Preparation of status reporting on systems completed, punch lists, procedures, and dossier status.
- Manage all aspects of preparation of handover dossiers, including supervising sub contractors in preparation
RequiredSkills & Experience:
- 10 years experience in various capacities as SURF Construction Manager
- Ability to communicate at all levels within the organization
- Engineering degree or equivalent in a technical discipline.
- A demonstrable commitment to HSE and Quality.
- Specialist Knowledge: Good knowledge of industry standards regarding deepwater SURF Fabrication and Installation. Knowledge of topsides and subsea interfaces. Experience in reviewing and commenting Subsea Installation Contractor design and other related documentation (ie specifications, SoW, procedures, reports, drawings ).
- Good working knowledge of operational requirements and philosophies.
- Well developed relationship skills as you will have to work in a multi-cultural diverse environment.
- Competency in Installation analysis software (ie Orcaflex or Flexcom) will be an advantage
