Operations Manager - Warehouse, Shipping & Distribution, Continu Operations Manager Logistics/Operations Manager

As Logistics/Operations Manager will provide leadership, direction and hands on involvement while managing personnel and processes involved in areas responsibility. The Operations Manager is responsible for driving the continuous improvement of our processes and systems in support of strategic and policy deployment objectives. As well as, production capacity planning, capital project justification, risk analysis, and new product/process definition with R&D.

- Responsible for managing and mentoring of Supervisors, professional staff, and/or production associates
- Drive process improvements to achieve goals for safety, quality, delivery and cost
- Provide input and recommendations for the identification and selection of improvement projects
- Participate in, facilitate, and/or train Kaizen or improvement project teams
- Responsible for establishing and meeting project quality, delivery, and cost objectives
- Develop and implement effective means of communicating safety, quality, delivery and cost related metrics to Teams
- Interface effectively with other Managers to achieve overall goals using shared resources
- Complete performance and development reviews for direct report associates
- Work with Design and Implementation teams on manufacturability, capability, reliability reviews
- Manage labor availability to complete work load and work to enhance cross-training for increased labor flexibility
- Create & lead PD Genba visual management process to support next level PF objectives, measured with Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
- Assist in data collection and analysis for new business opportunities
- Monitor departmental budgets and assist in defining annual operating and capital budgets. Has budgetary approval responsibility.
- Maintain and support ISO9001-based quality system
- Assist in achieving Policy Deployment & Strategic Plan objectives and participate in monthly PD reviews.
- Perform benchmarking studies as required
- Drive "best practices" in all areas of responsibility
- Assist in the development of the strategic plan in support of area
- Define manufacturing requirements for suppliers
- Support key account and other special customer requests
- Managing daily issues in their Areas

An ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree (physical science or engineering) or in supply chain, logistics, operations/production management or related field †Masters preferred
- 7 years of Ops Management in logistics, distribution and warehousing, showing growth over high-volume/high-mix shipping, warehousing, traffic management and negotiations (international and domestic), and hazardous goods (a plus) freight and handling experience.
- Well balanced in both tactical execution and strategic planning.
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing talent at all levels of the organization.
- A Visionary and a problem solver with experience in Kaizen, Root Cause/Counter Measure Investigation, †5-Why†sâ€, or A-3†s.
- Experience leading teams larger than 50 employees
- Working knowledge of various manufacturing/distribution processes
- Good understanding of supply chain functions including logistics, material control, demand planning, and inventory management
- Experience with international logistics and hazardous materials strongly preferred
- Knowledge of quality principles and tools (problem analysis, statistical tools, design of experiments, control charts, and other quality methodologies)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with
- Ability to effectively interface with a variety of people at various technical and management levels
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, data entry ability, and knowledge of databases, spreadsheets and statistical tools
- Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing a plus
- Mechanical skills/abilities preferred
- Excellent presentation skills
