Jr. Safety Engineer - Safety, Oil and Gas, Refinery Jr. Safety Engineer If you are a Jr. Safety Engineer with experience, please read on!

What you need for this position:
- 2 years in refinery or chemical industry, with 1-3 years experience in Process Safety Management.
- Training in Root Cause Analysis and Risk Management.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, procedures, and guidelines, specifically OSHA†s CFR 1900.119.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
- Ability to work help coordinate between different groups, disciplines, and departments.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Powerpoint, and MS Access.
- Ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements to daily job duties throughout the plant.
- Must be able to work a variable schedule when issues arise, particularly during unit Turnarounds, internal and external audits, and cases of emergency.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or safety preferred

What you'll be doing:
- Assist with Creating and maintaining Safety procedures and supporting the refinery departments to maintain OSHA compliance at all times.
- Help to manage the inspection department by providing support to procedures and implementation of the plant†s Mechanical Integrity Program.
- Assist in facilitation of PHA/hazard evaluations for projects, unit revalidations, or changes in the refinery.
- Assist in facilitation of incident investigations by determining adequate risk ranking and applying proper level of investigation per company policies.
- Write or aid in the writing of mechanical, operational, inspection, and daily procedures. Assist in developing and maintaining written inspection, test, and preventative maintenance plans and reliability programs.
- Help develop and implement key performance indicators to track the status of PSM related programs.
- Help manage, coordinate, facilitate, or implement all 14 elements of OSHA Process Safety Management regulations and requirements, as well as support the EPA†s risk management plan at the facility.
