Description:

POSITION SUMMARY
Under minimal direction, responsible for the design and integrity of data base structures in a large enterprise system environment. Develops and enforces data base standards and procedures. Analyzes data and process requirements. Leads or participates in logical and physical data base design. Reviews system and programming designs to ensure efficient use of data base resources. Maintains control programs required for accessing, tuning, managing and recovering of databases. Interfaces with operations support group and software maintenance staff on production problems and data base management issues. Monitors data base performance statistics and recommends improvements. Advises systems engineers and updates management on data base concepts and techniques. Researches new data base technologies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Three years of technical experience in SQL database administration.
- Experience with SQL development and tuning including triggers and stored procedures.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field and two to four years' of experience.
- Three years of additional specific database administration experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree.
- Three years experience with SQL Server 2005 or higher.
- Security+, GSEC, SCNP or SSCP Certification
- RDBMS or Microsoft Certification

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with Army Recruiting and/or Military
Experience with Oracle 10g and higher.
Experience with Windows Clustering Services, SQL Server Clusters, SQL Server security, encryption, SSRS, SSAS, SSIS
Experience with Centra Distance Learning software.
Experience with DR (Disaster Recovery) technologies such as SQL Replication, Database Mirroring and Log shipping
Minimum of 3 years of SSIS package Development on SQL 2005/2008
Detailed level knowledge of SQL Server internals, database design, T-SQL and backup/restore operations
Windows operating system knowledge as it pertains to SQL databases, server performance and security
Knowledge and experience with SQL Server memory management and the differences between editions and platforms (32bit and 64bit)
Good understanding of .NET technologies
