Description:
SAIC is seeking a .NET Software Applications Engineer to work with an engineering team to develop and deploy Department of Defense mission-critical Mortuary Affairs Reporting and Tracking web application.
Work location Fort Knox, KY.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design and develop .NET applications, including maintenance of class objects, application functions, web services and external interface controls, download managers for remote components, integration of third party tools, providing documentation for all products and for updating help files
- Assist with keeping web Servers updated with the latest application Software. This includes building the applications as well as uploading and making sure all the web server settings are correct.
- Setup new database parameters for each new web application.
- Maintain COOP web server in sync with our production applications.
- Develop and perform automated and manual life cycle testing and peer reviews.
- After hours and weekend support may be required to meet organization maintenance block periods (subject to change by higher authority) via remote connection or onsite
- Setup virtual directories via Internet Information Services (IIS) on web Servers for development and production.
- Assist in the maintenance of many miscellaneous web applications.
- Develop adhoc queries and reports as requested.
- Maintain local version control, adhere to configuration management and quality assurance policies and procedures
- Maintain accountability of time and product, and provide ad-hoc and scheduled status reports
- Install, configure, and maintain Visual Studio and other development environment tools
- Assist with Tier-2 and higher problem calls and assistance, and assist all users on any application related issues.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related technical discipline and 3+ years experience or 5+ years experience with High School degree.
- Demonstrated experience with MS Visual Studio 2010 and extensive programming skill with ASP .NET, .NET Framework 4.0.
- Strong experience with .NET C#, ASP.NET, Visual Basic .NET and JavaScript
- Good knowledge and experience using Microsoft office tools
- Knowledge of Oracle DBMS and able to write complex SQL
- Must be a U.S. citizen and have a DoD SECRET clearance
- This position exercises elevated privileges (administrator rights on devices) on the government's network and requires a Security+certification upon hiring
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge and direct experience in Casualty System software Development (DCIPS, PETS, MARTS)
- Have completed the following 4 mandatory classes: IASO, CIO G-6/NETCOM Information Assurance IA Technical Level 1, CIO G6/NETCOM Information Assurance Security Plus, and Security + Level II Schoolhouse course
- Visual Studio Visual Studio 2010 experience
- MS Windows 7 installation and configuration experience (64 bit is an extra plus)
- MS SharePoint and SharePoint Services experience
- Extensive report design and development experience
