Electrical Maintenance Supervisor

Requirements

• Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience.
• 15+ years of chemical manufacturing industrial experience in plant maintenance positions, supervisory experience preferred
• Knowledge of maintenance best practices
• Experience in turnaround management preferred
• Experience in planning/scheduling routine work
• Project experience preferred
• US citizen or green card holder.

Responsibilities

Initially provides inputs into the design teams to ensure the design supports the site standards and maintenance tequirements. After start-up the incumbent provides continuous improvement in maintenance services to the assigned unit. Coordinates closely with the Planners and Scheduler and Operations Superintendents to ensure efficient and rffective completion of maintenance activities. Oversees the installation, operation, and maintenance, of equipment in the assigned unit. Interacts with Operations, Process Technology, Project Engineering, Laboratory, Process Safety Management Department, Training Department and the Environmental Department. Also interacts with external infrastructure and service providers.

During the early phases of the project the incumbent will ensure the design takes into account aspects relevant to maintainability and site specific requirements. This will be achieved, but not exclusive to, participation in:

• Specialized studies: eg HAZOP, RAM studies, maintainability studies, constructability studies, RBI studies, metallurgy studies, etc
• Reviews to ensure design meets facility requirements

During execution the incumbent will play crucial roles in the successful implementation and construction of the operating units by participating in:

• Construction QA/QC and inspection assurance and control
• Development of maintenance strategies and implementation of maintenance management systems
• Develop maintenance procedures and review operating procedures
• Participation in commissioning and start-up planning and execution

Post start-up the incumbent will Supervise the daily field activities of hourly and contract maintenance services.

• Each maintenance supervisor oversees activities within a specific area of the chemical manufacturing complex, generally covering multiple operating units, and within his/her area of expertise.
• A high level of workforce, and contract service performance in regards to Safety and Health policies, ISO 14000, and plant policies and practices.
• Work execution complies with the plans prepared by the maintenance planners, and scheduled by the maintenance planner.
• Optimization of human and financial resources
• Repairs comply with national codes and industry practice
• Adequate spare part inventories to support each unit’s business strategy.
• Provides guidance/input on training programs to keep individuals current with new project installations.
• Appropriate support to the engineering department on project installations and start-up.
