Information Security Engineer
Information Security Engineer to join our team of qualified Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testers. The qualified applicant will become part of Engineering & Operations Unit and work with clients to perform Security testing services. Louisiana candidates are preferred- (Regional travel 50% of the time client visits lasting 2-5 days)
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for working with clients to scope their needs for an assessment.
- Must be capable of writing test plans that include technical descriptions layout the penetration testing rules of engagement
- Coordinate pre-assessment details with clients and other stakeholders
- Able to analyze assessment data and create practical recommendations
- Must present data and recommendations to clients of varied technical backgrounds.
- Vulnerability assessments
- Capable of analysing a network and setting up and running appropriate Operating System scans
- Must be able to map out a network and discover ports, services, and OS using Nmap
- Understand basic database structures and run database scanning using AppDetective
- Network penetration testing
- Understands general network penetration testing methodology
- Can analyze Nessus scan results and determine the appropriate test avenues
- Proficient using Metasploit to launch exploits and manage payloads
- Proficient in the Backtrack penetration testing distribution tool sets
- Web application testing
- Understands the fundamentals of web applications including authentication, session management, requests, form submittal, etc.
- Understanding and ability to exploit Cross Site Scripting, SQL injection, and other common vulnerabilities
- Understanding of the different web app protocols and communication methods
- General knowledge of Windows
- UNIX/Linux AIX experience is a plus.
- Html and JavaScript
- Variety of common network ports and protocols
Skills needed
- Experience with network penetration testing and web application testing, social engineering, risk assessments
- Familiarity with COBIT, ISO, NIST and/or OSSTMM
- Experience with Backtrack, Metasploit, NMAP, HPing, Nessus, Cenzic Hailstorm, NetCat, and Burp Suite tools preferred
