The Oracle DBA is responsible for design, development, implementation, administration, and production operation of database architecture that support business objectives. Performs creation of database objects such as stored procedures, triggers, packages, tuning, database administration, troubleshooting required of Oracle database environments. Supports multiple system environments for development, testing and production systems. Creates scripts and automation to reduce manual effort and to increase DBA team productivity. Performs logical design and physical implementation of data services layer. Proactively diagnoses and resolves problems affecting database performance, reliability, uptime, stability, and availability. Designs and implements database backup and recovery strategies and maintains production operations of implanted solution. Adheres to our standards and quality control procedures. Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

This person will work with a cross-section of internal IT organizations, including systems analysts, developers and the management team. Excellent analytical skills, time management skills, ability to prioritize and multi task, ability to routinely make effective and timely decisions in alignment with departmental direction is required.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Minimu 5 - 7 year experience with Oracle 10g/11g
• Experience with Linux/UNIX including Shell Scripting
• Queryoptimization and performance tuning
• Plan and implement effective backup & recovery using export and import datapump, rman and snap manager for oracle, business continuity strategies
• Design, test, implementing and maintain high availability solutions
• Installation, administration, troubleshooting of Oracle database systems
• Performs system builds and comply with release management, change management and quality assurance standards
• Identify and implement process improvements in various database aspects
• Control  and monitor user access to databases and maintain database security
• Network Storage preferably NetApp and SNAP Manager for Oracle and/or ZFS
• Must be proficient in database administration using command line interface and GUI
• Must  have the ability and willingness to be on-call including weekends
• Must  be a US Citizen and have the ability to receive US government security clearance

Additional Knowledge & Skills

• Minimum 5+ years experience with logical/physical data design
• Experience with RAC, Data Guard, streams in a production environment
• Experience with RMAN, Export and Import Datapump, ASM, Oracle Grid Control
• Batch  processing and OLTP

Education  4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience.
