Junior Software Developer

Currently we are searching for a Junior Software Developer to join our Custom Software Solutions department in Potomac, MD. The primary functions of the Junior Software Developer role are to develop software applications based on functional requirements and technical specifications. This person will regularly create and document technical designs based on functional requirements as well as implement the design. Software developers work collaboratively with business analysts in order to understand functional requirements and translate those requirements into technical designs. Additionally, software developers work collaboratively with other developers to share coding best practices and ensure standardized techniques across the team. Essential Functions
- Software development of Client Server, object-oriented applications, using primarily .NET and C#
- Planning and execution of unit tests of code components
- Database Programming (TSQL on MS SQL Server)
- Report building using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services
- Development of solutions for a variety of complex problems
- Translation of functional requirements documents into technical design specifications
- Follow team's standards, patterns and processes
- Troubleshoot production issues, suggest and implement fixes
- Become familiar with Legacy applications with the intent of eventually owning maintenance and development
Requirements
- 1 to 3 years of C# and .NET experience.
- Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university in Computer Science, Technology or related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft technologies and platforms including: Client Server development using C#, ADO.NET, Visual Studio, SOAP, SOA, WCF and Web Services
- Proficiency with SQL Server 2005/2008 and database access technologies and techniques.
- Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server Report Services
- Strong Object Oriented concepts.
- Experience working within short development cycles using agile methods.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Flexible & easily adaptable to change.
- Strong desire to learn new technologies
