In this position, you will occupy a valued role on a dynamic and motivated team, which develops mission critical energy management software systems. In this role, you will focus on design and development for Web Services, SCADA Applications and User Interface responsible for the following: Essential Responsibilities:
  • Full life cycle development and testing of new and existing Smart Grid and SCADA Applications and Web Services required for the XA/21 SCADA Energy Management Systems
  • Development of interface protocols for common document management business systems
  • Development of generic database interfaces to common business financial systems
  • Write Test Procedures, complete Factory Acceptance Tests, and support System
  • Commissioning (US) and International XA/21 customers
  • Conduct profiling of code and analysis of performance, promoting the development of generic solutions and re-use of code
  • Communicate architecture & designs across organization to diverse audience
  • Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations
  • Assist customers with troubleshooting problems related to the operation of mission critical, Real Time systems
  • Work in cooperation with marketing, sales, new product development and customer project teams
  • Provide technical assistance with cost estimate quotations and technical proposals
  • Support hands-on remote and on-site support Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 3 years of experience authoring software for Windows or UNIX (Solaris, Linux or AIX)

  • Ability and willingness to travel Additional Eligibility Qualifications: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening.   • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in developing software in an agile environment
  • Minimum 2 years of experience authoring scripts with automation tools such as LoadRunner, QuickTest Professional ITQSB or ISEB Testing
  • Strong software development lifecycle experience, experience working within agile approach
  • Knowledge of software development tools, test automation tools, Client/Server applications, ClearCase, ClearQuest, Quality Center, github
  • Experience with Rational Clear Case; SCADA or Real-Time Application experience
  • Knowledge of HTML, XML, and/or HTTP Servlets desired; Knowledge of Apache Tomcat, Oracle, and Java libraries and utilities, Adobe PDF Programming
  • Understanding of databases and database concepts such as SQL and relational database design
  • Understanding of software development concepts including programming languages (Java, C++), Object oriented analysis and design, and application architecture
  • Experience in Multi-Threaded Parallel and Concurrent Programming techniques
  • Knowledge in the Domain area programmed
  • Ability to read and interpret system logs & debugs files
  • Expert in Java development with experience using Swing; expert in development of adapters and web service interfaces
  • Experience in developing WSDL's and XSD's; experience with Apache products, specifically: Geronimo, Tomcat, Camel, ServiceMix, Axis, and Axis2
  • Experience integrating with ESB/IBUS technologies: Fuse ESB, TIBCO, Web Sphere, etc
  • Team player with willingness to work on multiple projects and/or cross boundaries where necessary to complete a task
  • Experience in use of Oracle and SQL; experience in development of Pure Java based client applications as well as Java Middle Tier business logic
  • Minimum 2 years of experience authoring software in C, KSH and Java
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; problem analysis and resolution skills
  • Able to apply principles of logical or scientific reasoning to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
  • Self Starter with good process orientation
  • Must have tenacity and strong attention to detail
  • Must have understanding of common software failures and faults
  • Demonstrated experience in dealing with customers, both international and domestic
