As an R&D Intern, students will assist product development and research teams with prototyping, testing, data collection/summary, and documentation. Assist R&D engineers and teams in design, development, build, test, and analysis of products, processes, experiments, fixtures, and equipment. Develop device concepts, processes, and experiments. Fabricate mechanical and electrical components/assembly prototypes, and fixtures. Design and document device components & systems, test methods, experiments, and processes. Organize, coordinate, and execute building and testing of prototypes, tests and experiments. Collect, manage, and perform basic analysis of device-related and experimental data such as component inspections and safety/function/performance testing, drug and tissue experimentation. Communicate tasks, priorities, and status to supervisor and team and abide by the company's quality system

Qualifications

In order to be eligible for an Intern position, candidates must be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Candidates must be considered a student during the internship. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is strongly preferred, with demonstrated leadership/participation in campus programs and/or community service activities. Students must be authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship in the future.

To be considered for this position candidates need to have basic principles in mechanical, electrical or chemical engineering. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Excellent verbal communicator. Strong skills in technical writing.
