The Governance, Risk & Compliance unit works with teams across Thomson Reuters to leverage the full capabilities of the business.

POSITION SUMMARY
- This position is responsible for developing, and leading Test Procedures, and Test Cases/Scripts for newly developed functionality. This position is also responsible for conducting Unit/Functional/Regression Testing of recently developed software programs and working with Development to resolve issues.
- Application of Automated Testing Tools: Responsible for execution of Functional and/or Performance Testing Automated test scripts. This position is also responsible for working with New Product Development to assure Product Test Coverage, Performance and expansion of automated test suits.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Automation Specific:/Performance Testing a plus but not required
- Experience in the creation and documentation of performance test plans and test cases
- Knowledge in creating and implementing various types of performance tests including Load, Stress and Scalability testing for web and Client Server environments
- Knowledge of web architecture and networking
- Knowledge and experience in relational databases & writing SQL
- Experience in load testing of databases such as Oracle, DB2 and SQL
- Experience with performance test tools such as LoadRunner.
- Analysis and debugging skills required to create detailed Performance Assessment documents
- Verbal and written skills for clearly communicating results to management
- Automation Specific:/Functional Automation Testing a plus but not required
- Creates and participates in test and process automation, manual as well as automated test execution, and the development of software testing deliverables such as test execution, and the development of software testing deliverables such as test requirements, plans, cases, scripts, reports, etc., for assigned projects.
- Create day-to-day operations for assigned team and projects, including project management tasks such as resource allocations, task prioritization, estimates, and time reporting. Proactively work to identify, clarify, and resolve issues, and remove barriers for team within a timely manner.
- Anticipate, develop, and implement plans to ensure that team is equipped with the technical knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to effectively and successfully test a wide variety of features, and customizations of software.
- Partner with software development teams and other organizations to ensure their needs are being met and that our services are adding value.
- Work with management to research and implement new, innovative ways of providing quality testing services.
- Functional:
- Understanding of Software Testing Methodology (Agile/Scrum) which includes Test Planning, Test Coverage (BDD), Unit Test Development (Cucumber/Groovy), Functional Test Development, Test Execution, Test Triage, Fix Verification, Regression, Upgrade and Dataload Testing
- Attend Design Reviews to gain understanding of functionality in order to develop and execute testing tasks and responsibilities
- Unit/Functional Test Development: Develop Test Strategies (BDD/Gherkin), Test Cases/Scripts (Cucumber) and Test Data for new product functionality and/or customer requests from Requirements/Specifications
- Test Execution: Triage Automated Tests, Conduct Functional, Regression, Upgrade and Localization testing to assure Functionality is working as expected
- Data Load/Conversion Testing: Conduct test execution on specific customer data and databases as directed
- Problem Research and Error Isolation: Conduct analysis of testing results/failures. Prepare and submit detailed problem reports for correction. Work with development staff to resolve issues
- Fix Verification/Impact Analysis: Verify problems reported during testing are working as designed. Verify no further regressions are caused by the fix.
- Able to identify and implement solutions for listed Products, Process and Testing improvements
- Responsible for communicating with QA Team Lead and other QA Analysts on test progress/status in a timely manner
- Responsible for tracking progress and communicating if deliveries become jeopardized by defects/poor quality/missing or duplicate data. Also able to propose and organize/present a plan for accomplishing that new target.
- Assist in estimation of hours required to complete testing projects and data import validation (as requested)
- Develop in-depth Product Knowledge and develop Subject Matter Expertise to access impact of changes through our product and determine test coverage needed
- Ability to work with Team Leads and Scheduling Coordinator for customer priorities, escalated items and to meet project completion dates with acceptable levels of software quality
- Assist Project Managers and Development Teams to resolve and test issues encountered in customers Production and User Acceptance Testing Environments
- Take part in Service Team conference calls to obtain necessary data if necessary and able to work with the Service Team directly
- Analyze Customer Build Rejection Levels and Reasons. Expand test coverage, test documentation and test execution accordingly.
- Produce process and procedure documentation
- Other duties as directed by Test Lead, Supervisor and/or Management
- Able to work hours outside the normal business hours on occasion

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- BS degree with an emphasis in CS/MIS/CIS highly desirable

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
- Understanding of Software Development and Testing Methodologies (specifically Agile/Scrum/BDD/TDD)
- Must have the ability to develop Test Procedures, Test Plans and Test Strategies for overall Team Advancement (specifically using the tools of Gherkin/Cucumber/Groovy)
- Must be willing to spend the time necessary to achieve and maintain a high level of understanding of Thomson Reuters Products and Customer Change Requests

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 1-3 years of experience in developing tests and test data for software systems
- 1 -3 years of experience in test execution of software systems
- Experience working with Stakeholders regarding information gathering and problem identification
- Experience in an agile environment, preferably scrum

SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and consistent follow-through to assure problems are resolved and Product meet established Quality Release Criteria Standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to communicate with individuals with all levels of technical and non-technical skill sets (ie Test Managers, Developers, Project Managers and external Customers)
- Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Excellent communication and people skills essential
- Good listening skills; problem solving and the ability to handle multiple projects/clients at once is necessary
- Ability to demonstrate initiative for identifying problems, determining solutions, suggesting and implementing Process and Test improvements
- The ability to handle objections and counter professionally as necessary
