Crash Analysis Engineer - CAE, FEA, Crashworthiness Crash Analysis Engineer If you are an experienced Automotive Crash Analysis Engineer (CAE), please read on!

Will provide relocation assistance

An electric vehicle manufacturer located south of Memphis, TN has an immediate need for a Crash Analysis Engineer (CAE).
You will be responsible for the creation and documentation of modeling plans to engineering team and initiation of new processes and tools. Work involves high amount of creativity and strong oral and written communication skills. Exercises high amount of independent judgment with little guidance from supervisor.

What you will be doing:
- Conduct analytical structural crashworthiness simulations using LS-DYNA software to evaluate full vehicle crashworthiness performance for Frontal, Side, Rear impacts, Pedestrian Protection, Low speed front and rear RCAR simulations, etc.
- Use analytical simulation and crash test results to generate technical/design solutions that meet vehicle crashworthiness performance targets outlined in the Vehicle Technical Specifications (VTS) in a timely manner.
- Develop and validate crashworthiness performance of vehicle structure, vehicle interior, occupant restraints, fuel system, etc, to meet VTS requirements.
- Utilize safety standard work procedures for all simulations and assure high quality models.
- Work with engineering functions, program teams, suppliers, manufacturing and others to implement design changes as required

Qualifications:
- Ability to perform FEA and thermal analysis of Vehicle structure and components
- Background in automotive design is a plus
- Working knowledge of Solidworks simulation package including the dynamic, static, and thermal loading (experience with NX is also a plus)
- Well versed in varying material properties
- Ability to use analytical models to provide suggestions for improvement to designs to help with NVH, crashworthiness, durability, weight savings, etc…
- Knowledge of structural efficiency improvements - achieve improved performance with less mass (topology, shape, weld/adhesive, gauge, lightweight materials, etc…).
- Good interpersonal skills and can work well in a team environment
- Ability to setup actual testing to validate the computer generated models for NVH and thermal loading
