Responsibilities
- Management of implementation and support of new products/enhancements
- Management of change required to support product enhancement and growth
- Provision of a second level support function.
- Management of complex problems and provision of technical expertise and assistance to the Shift operations Staff
- Provision and maintenance of documentation on system configurations, databases, define methods of working and daily operational procedures
- Definition of operational requirements

Qualifications
Required Skills
- Applicants should possess excellent knowledge (and at least 2-3 years DBA experience) of Oracle Database Technologies, more specifically knowledge of Oracle 10G, Oracle RAC, Oracle RMAN, Oracle Streams, Oracle Replication and Oracle Enterprise Manager.
- Some knowledge of management systems products such as Tivoli and Formula.
- A logical and methodical approach to problem solving.
- Applicants should possess a working knowledge of Solaris UNIX and Microsoft Windows based Operating systems.
- An understanding of Scripting (Shell & Pearl)
- Ability to multitask, and work under pressure with changing priorities is essential to this role
- Flexible attitude to weekend work is a must as individuals will be required to work at least one weekend each month (once fully trained)
- Ability to build trust and credibility easily and quickly with remote teams.
- The candidate should posses good English communication skills (both written and verbal) and excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow standards and processes (such as change management) is a must for this roleDesired Skills
- A background in a busy operational or service delivery environment would also be advantageous.
