Texas Health Presbyterian Denton is seeking a full time, third shift Administrative Supervisor. The successful candidate will possess the follow ing qualifications.
ADN, Diploma, or Bachelors in Nursing. BSN highly desirable.
Two (2) years current hospital and management experience
CPR on hire, ACLS within 6 months of hire
Responsibilities:
Demonstrates/appropriately, accesses/acts as a resource for hospital policies and procedures.
- Provides input to Directors/Managers on staff evals as requested.
- Supports employee development and retention activities.
-Councels/mentors staff as needed.
- Serves as role model for staff; Clinical resource and problem solver for nursing departments; Assists clinical and ancillary departments in care treatment and service issues; and Rounds on all nursing units in a timely manner.
- Ensures appropriate staffing levels are in alignment with staffing grids; Adjusts staffing as census changes and verifies accuracy of daily staffing sheet.
- Maintains open communication with VP, CNO or designee for patient care issues.
- Assists staff in applying effective communication skills.
- Supports Unit Practice Council process as assigned.
Actively promotes satisfaction targets related to patients, staff, and physicians.
- Promptly resolves complaints using effective interpersonal skills.
- Promotes interdisciplinary environment to foster optimal outcomes.
- Supports/participates in hospital initiatives in community, within the hospital and between departments.

- Supports Relationship Based Care and The Caring Model ; interacts with customers who may include patients, physicians, co workers, vendors and visitors in a manner that exemplifies the hospital's mission, vision and values. Communicates in a clear, concise and appropriate manner to staff, patients, physicians and visitors.
- Maintains customer's rights (confidentality, privacy, safety, security and decision making).
Helps to identify the need for new programs or services within the hospital to meet the needs of the patients, staff, physicians and community.
- Facilitates/supports effective scheduling of staff.
-Encourages appropriate supply utilization
- Facilitates the provision of equipment/supplies to support patient care.
- Provides after hours support to Medical Records obtaining records to facilitate patient care.
- Monitors and facilitates transfers to insure compliance with EMTALA.
- Coordinates access to the on-call staff for hospital departments whose operations are not 24/7.
- Controls bed assignments and patient flow throughout the facility.
- Facilitates transfers of patients within, to and from the hospital using transfer center resources as appropriate; Evaluates need for patient transfer per hospital policy, receives orders from physicians.
Independently able to problem solve and meet changing needs of staff, physicians and patients.
- Facilitates the provision of safe, competent patient care
-Works with staff/physicians to evaluate and facilitate the placement of patients into the appropriate level of care
- Clarifies and encourages staff compliance with hospital clinical policies
- Facilitates compliance with regulatory and accreditation agencies
- Provides legal/ethical guidance in patient care as needed
- Supports the use of PI tools to appropriately address clinical issues/concerns.
- Is knowledgeable of and participates in the hospital performance improvement programs.
- Performs basic tasks in a timely manner with minimum guidance and supervision.
- Demonstrates willingness to work toward department and hospital goals and objectives.
