ASSOCIATE SCIENTIST/ENGINEER(Job Number:1301593)
Description
The Associate Scientist/Engineer will be responsible for development and production activities to advance biologic candidates in the BMS pipeline. The responsibilities include performing lab scale chromatography and filtration experiments, executing scale-up production runs, performing bioanalytical testing such as A280, SEC and Protein A HPLC, and coauthoring technical documents. At a minimum the candidate should have a good knowledge and direct working experience of protein chromatography, normal flow filtration, and ultrafiltration/diafiltration. Understanding of cell culture, protein properties, stability and analytical techniques is preferred. A good working knowledge of Matlab, JMP and Design of Experiments is a plus. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability of work in a collaborative environment, and capacity to handle multiple tasks to meet project timelines.
Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. degree in chemical/biochemical engineering, biochemistry, biophysics or equivalent.
- Experience with protein purification techniques, including protein chromatography and ultrafiltration/diafiltration. A good knowledge of different modes of chromatography.
- Computer literacy and good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Effective communication skills, and proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
