The Shopper Marketing Manager is responsible for the following:
- Leading the strategic planning, development, creative and execution of marketing programs for our brands to support our business objectives at Walmart or Target.
- Leveraging expertise in marketing, media planning, sales promotion and shopper insights, the Shopper Marketing Manager creates effective shopper marketing programs that drive enhanced merchandising support, sales and share for our brands.
- Creates media campaigns, activation plans and/or custom offers that engage the shopper along the path to purchase.
- Works collaboratively with the brand team and the Walmart or Target sales team by providing marketing expertise to sales and retailer knowledge to the brand.
Qualifications
Education:
* Required: BA/BS
* Preferred: MBA
Required Experience:
- 7 years of related experience
- Minimum of 3 years of brand management experience
- Brand Management, Marketing Plan Development experience
- Agency or agency management experience, ability to lead creative development and execution
- Media planning experience and experience working with a variety of different media vehicles
- Ability to think creatively and foster innovation, demonstrated drive for continuous improvement
- High level of urgency and prioritization
- Ability to collaborate and partner cross functionally with marketing, sales, market research, consumer activation, media, finance and legal to create and execute marketing programs.
- Knowledge of Market research, ability to leverage existing shopper research, ability to influence the development of shopper research, ability to lead retailer specific shopper research.
- Financial capability to conduct a cost-benefit analysis of shopper marketing programs to maximize learning and ROI
- Ability to cultivate business building relationships with retailer marketing and other key contacts.
- Ability to present strategy, concepts and results with the retailer and internally with Senior Level executives
- Strong negotiation skills
- 20% Travel
Preferred Experience:
- Consumer Packaged Goods industry experience
- Combination of Marketing, Sales, Market Research, Agency and/or Agency Management experience
- Shopper Marketing and/or Shopper Research experience
