Responsibilities

This position is responsible for maximizing sales in region within allotted budget through recruiting, training, and motivating top talent. Campus time and regional analysis are required to help develop and support Learning Technology Specialists. This position can be based out of any major Eastern city and requires consistent travel across the East and Southeast Regions.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

DRIVING REGIONAL SALES

-Lead regional sales planning and implementation to achieve target.

-Work on campus 3 days per week to model and teach effective sales and interview techniques.

-Develop strong Learning Technology Specialists through coaching, training, and professional development.

-Become involved with top regional accounts, key customers, and competitive take-aways.

-Assist Learning Technology Specialists to develop strategies for improving sales at key bookstore accounts.

-Drive district and regional events and initiatives.

RECRUITING

-Constant recruiting through networking for key Learning Technology Specialist talent.

-Interview and hire top Learning Technology Specialists and assist with Rep and District Manager hiring.

RETENTION AND DEVELOPMENT

-Train new Learning Technology Specialists and assist with Rep and District Manager training.

-Motivate Learning Technology Specialists through regional leadership

-Develop and retain top talent (Learning Technology Specialists, District Managers, and Reps).

-Carry out performance management plans.

COMMUNICATION

-Talk with each Learning Technology Specialist a minimum of 2 times per week.

-Talk with SVP, General Manager of Pearson Specialists a minimum of 1 time per week.

-Talk with Regional Sales Managers a minimum of 1 time per week.

-Talk with Directors of Marketing a minimum of 2 times per month.

-Communicate sales status to region each week.

-Conduct regional conference calls with Learning Technology Specialists on timely topics.

Qualifications

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

Candidate must have sales management experience within the publishing industry with demonstrated success and the following skills:

-Strong leadership skills to motivate regional sales staff

-Strong planning and analysis skills

-Strong recruiting and training skills

-Strong communication and negotiating skills

-At least 2 years of successful management experience in College Publishing preferred

-At least 2 years of successful specialist experience in College Publishing preferred

-4-year college degree

-Travel expectation - 60%
