Responsibilities

The Director of Sales will be responsible for selling news and research products to the investment mangement industry. Prospective clients of these soon-to-be-launched products include mainly fund firrms across the U.S., Latin America and Europe. This is a NYC-based position and very little travel will be required. Money-Media is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Financial Times.

JOB DESCRIPTION

This person will be responsible for bringing in new business for the news and research products. S/He will work with the existing clients of Money-Media to cross-sell the new products as well as calling on new firms that are not current clients.

The Director of Sales will work closely with the new product launch team to ensure all target firms have been reached and key executives have been presented the value proposition of the new product. S/he will also be responsible for collections, and generate daily call reports and weekly/monthly sales reports.

Success in this position will be measured against the territory's sales goal. This New York based position will require telesales, attending industry conferences and face to face meetings. Being able to speak Spanish is a requirement.

Qualifications:
- Fluent in Spanish
- Minimum of 2-4 year track record of success in sales, both inside sales and the ability to make outside sales contacts when required.
- Past experience selling into asset managers, selling research is a big plus.
- Must be able to make multiple sales calls to both identify and contact key decision makers and to close by telephone, email and in person.
- Ability to interact and sell to senior level executives. Strong consistent follow-up is necessary for this position.
- Ability to maintain efficient customer and prospect sales data and reports.
- Review and maintain lead, accounts and opportunities in CRM system, Salesforce.com.
- Ability to conduct research and review extensive prospect/customer data sources to affect active cross-sell opportunities.
- 4 year degree from a University or College.
- Clear ability and desire to work closely with marketing and editorial teams.
