Overview


The position is accountable for the delivery and execution of IT projects supporting the Elektron Transactions business providing electronic trading products and services that span the trading life cycle. The candidate should have a proven background in financial services and demonstrated success on delivering solutions for electronic trading applications requiring high availability, large scale, high throughput and low latency.

Responsibilities

- Senior Software Developer responsible for maintenance and development electronic trading applications and components including client connectivity, market access, smart routing and algorithmic trading.
- Contributor to new generation of electronic trading platform of products aligned to business goals and initiatives, providing a low latency and high throughput trading platform.
- Work closely with key business and technology partners.
- Communicate progress on projects to lead and management.
- Navigate and promote a collaborative working environment.
- Champion SDLC process adhering and supporting unit and automated testing, release cycles, change management, quality assurance, resource driven plans, and cross functional communication.
- Work with support teams to ensure systems are built to standards that promote high availability, large scale, and supportability while meeting the functional needs of the business.
- Build strong relationships with key business and technology partners.
- Maintain trading knowledge with various exchanges, FIX infrastructure, order management systems, algorithmic trading, and exchange technologies.
- Seek out industry trends and apply trading knowledge to ensure best in class solutions.

Individual responsibilities:
- Strong Linux/Unix knowledge
- Very Strong FIX knowledge
- Java/C++ programming, profiling and performance tuning experience
- Knowledge of development methodologies and frameworks ( Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, Spring)
- Experienced message bus based experience
- Low latency Middleware and persistence experience
- Database experience
- Solid understanding of Trade Flows from Order Entry to Post Trade Settlement
- Knowledge of markets, market data, order flow and execution
- Familiarity with order capture, direct market access and algorithmic trading
- Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple and concurrent priorities and deadlines is required.
- Team player and self starter
- Proven experience in delivering electronic trading solutions and applications supporting client connectivity, market gateways, smart routing and algorithmic trading.
In addition to the above skillsets and responsibilities, the FIX Portal developer will require:
- Proficiencies in User Interface web technologies, including JSP, Javascript, AJAX, JSON, Grails, Java MVC
- Experience in design, development and testing of web based user interfaces
- Experience in development and design of financial application user interfaces and portals
